Just Call Me Rocky

Today I climbed a ladder for the first time since my injury.

It pretty much felt like this:

I even wore black Chucks, just like Rocky Balboa.

And in case anyone's wondering, the spindles on my side porch spandrel are on 7" centers.

  1. Wow, I didn't remember the movie being quite so corny. LOL Glad to see you up at back at it.

  2. Wait. Does this mean you climbed a ladder just to measure the spandrels? Which means you've probably been staring at them for a long time wondering how far apart they were but your injury has kept you from doing that?

Good for you. You're getting back on your feet.

    1. Yup, I climbed the ladder just to measure the spindles. I wondered how tall they were and how wide, and how much space was between them. I've been physically able to climb a ladder for awhile now, but not able to reach, so I had to wait for that. And that spandrel taunted

  3. Good for you!

i didn't see that movie. I think I did not miss much :-)

  4. Great! Be careful on that ladder! The Rocky video got me off to a good start, too, this morning! Thanks for posting it! Can't wait to see what you do to the house, next!

  5. Oh my gosh No. 1: Jayne, it's great you're feeling well enough to climb a ladder again. But take it easy!

Oh my gosh No. 2: You know, I never watched any Rocky movies except the last one. But I did live in Philly for a couple of years. What a hilarious bunch of-- well, I can't call it continuity fails, since I think they did it on purpose. Through the Italian Market, the up to Fairmount Park (which is right next to the Art Museum), then back down to the Chestnut Street Transitway, then over to Independence Hall, then whap! up to Logan Circle, then finally up the Parkway to the Art Museum. If he really had taken that route, it would have taken all bloody day!
