Back Home

Taken Monday or Tuesday in Joplin, Mo.
That's one of the guys I work with, on duty in Joplin with our department's Heavy Rescue Team.  They're back home now, after going without sleep for almost 48 hours while they checked neighborhoods in Joplin for survivors.  It's difficult work, both physically and emotionally.  Please keep in your prayers the emergency service workers in the tornado-devastated areas.

  3. Heard on the radio a few minutes ago that the Missouri's flooding up by Omaha. What do you hear about flood risks downstream in Kansas City and Lexington?

  4. Kate, The river's really high here and there was water over the road when I came home Thursday morning, but it seems to have crested. That's my unofficial opinion; I haven't checked the Corps of Engineers website lately.
